MSPTech.co.uk is about the ‘behind the scenes’, the ‘day to day’ support & technologies used within a Managed Service Provider (or MSP for short).
MSPTech.co.uk is all about things that go on that may not actully be seen, or even thought about.
The aim was to provide technical support, however, having started, like an MSP, things have evolved into what we have now.
Intially MSPTech.co.uk was going to be more of a place holder for the youtube channel (MSPTech), mixed with real world break/fix solutions based on my day to day. Then as ideas started to come, they grew into the wider areas that MSPs & clients also deal with.
If you look at the history of what IT Support has been, has grown to, and what it could eventually evolve into, the role of the IT department has grown tremendously also. It used to be a case of engaging with IT support when things went wrong or maybe bringing in a specilised consultant to lead, or deliver, a particular project. Nowadays however companies only offering a ‘break/fix’ solution are almost non-exsistiant, but why is this?
While there are Break/fix companies around, they just dont cut it in an ever changing world. Companies need a single point of contact for all their technology requirements, not just re-acting to faults, but pro-activly alerting, advising and improving systems & performance, all while cutting the costs to the client.
